After School Act

The After School Activities (ASA) at St. Dominic’s provides enjoyment, challenge, progression and breadth of experience to our students. We encourage our students to pursue a range of interests by developing existing talents or learning something new.

Every day, when classes finish, we offer a wide range of activities where the students can have fun and learn in a relaxed atmosphere after their busy day at school.

School sports (basketball, volleyball and football) are training sessions for students who want to be part of school sports teams. Students participate in these sessions in order to participate in friendly games and tournaments against other schools that are organised during the year. Participants of school sports are always enthusiastic and very proud to represent St. Dominic’s.

Many of our dedicated teachers are involved in our Co-curricular programmes by leading a club. Each club has different aims and the students are able to share their creativity and social skills in a different environment and are offered to all students at no cost to the parents from 15.45 -16.30.

Our Extra- curricular activities, such as ballet, surf and karate are offered by qualified professionals who are part of the SDIS community and are paid activities. Additionally, a wide range of musical lessons is also offered by the school at lunch time and after school.

Admissions

New Student Admissions Procedure

St. Dominic’s International School has an open admission policy and does not accept students based solely on their academic ability.

However, our student admissions procedures aim to ensure that every child admitted has a good chance of succeeding in the balanced and rigorous
academic programmes that we offer.

  1. To begin, please submit an Expression of Interest form

  2. After a tour of our campus, you and your child can meet with a member of our admissions team to discuss your child’s future at St. Dominic’s. Particular attention will be given to your child’s past schooling experience, reports from previous schools, specific talents and language ability to ensure your child’s class placement and academic success.

  3. Based upon you and your child’s decision, we will ask you to complete a pre-registration form and pay the non-refundable pre-registration fee (deducted from first term fees when accepted.)

  4. For applications to Grade 6 and above, your child will be asked to complete an online placement test (CAT Test). This can be scheduled for the day of your visit at our school, or we can request for it to be done at your child’s current school.  (The tests take about two hours, and will enable us to better understand your child’s learning styles and strengths.

  5. Children who are not fluent in English or who may have special educational needs may be referred to the school’s Learning Support professionals to better understand the student’s strengths and needs.

  6. Please know that placement is offered according to space availability and the date of your application. Registration forms will then be sent to you or you can click here to download the Registration form
